Deborah Siddoway

Books. It is all about the books. Deborah is an avid reader, academic and a writer, with a particular interest in the nineteenth century and feminism.

Her first novel, Dark Waters, was published by Bloodhound Books on 12 September 2024.

Deborah Siddoway recently completed a PhD at Durham University for her thesis exploring divorce and divorce law reform in the nineteenth-century English novel. A solicitor, she was awarded an MA by research in Dickens Studies from the University of Buckingham, won the 2019 Partlow Prize for a paper since published in the Dickens Quarterly, and has also been published in The Dickensian. She is a contributor to Celebrating Women in Legal History: Making and Shaping a Discipline, due to be published in early 2026.
